BREW & RENEW: HILLS BROS.® COFFEE TO DEBUT CERTIFIED 100% COMPOSTABLE SINGLE-SERVE COFFEE IN CHICAGO
Sampling Offered at Four Sponsored Events on Earth Day Weekend
(PORTSMOUTH, Va. – March 30, 2016) – Hills Bros.® Coffee will debut the first certified 100 percent compostable single-serve coffee in the United States on Earth Day in Chicago.
Hills Bros.® Coffee will be offering fresh brewed coffee, memorabilia and single-serving samples at four separate sponsored Earth Day events in Chicago:
- Earth Day Metra Commuter Party, Friday, April 22 from 7:30 to 9 a.m., plus a chance to win coffee for a year with 101.9 The Mix, at Metra Transportation Centers: Ogilvie—500 W. Madison St.; Millennium—151 N. Michigan Ave.; LaSalle—414 S. LaSalle Ave.
- Clean Up The Parks hosted by Friends of the Park – Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Whistler Woods;
- Party for the Planet hosted by Brookfield Zoo – Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Brookfield Zoo;
- The Champion of Trees 10k Run hosted by the Morton Arboretum – Sunday April 24, 2016, 8 a.m. starting time at the Morton Arboretum

Throughout the weekend, brewed Hills Bros. pods and certified compostable paper cups will be collected by The Resource Center, a commercial composter based in Chicago, to be made into compost for use at City Farm and other urban farming projects.
